Donor-advised funds are one of the fastest-growing charitable vehicles in philanthropy, offering strategic opportunities for both donors and the nonprofits they support. Join us in celebrating DAF Day on October 9, 2025, as we explore how nonprofits can unlock the full potential of their donors using DAFs to drive greater charitable impact.
Join our experts Stephen Kump, President of DAFs, and Gary Pforzheimer, President of Planned Giving, alongside Mitch Stein, Head of Strategy at Chariot, as they share proven strategies for maximizing DAF engagement and building sustainable giving relationships that benefit donors, wealth managers, and nonprofits.
Key topics we'll cover in this discussion include:
Stephen is President of DAFs at Foundation Source, the leading provider of philanthropic software and services that provides donors, nonprofits, wealth advisors and financial institutions with turnkey, white-label and outsourced offerings that meet a wide range of philanthropic objectives.
He is also the founder and a board director of Charityvest, a donor-advised fund sponsor, and Chairman of the Board of Teen Advisors, a nonprofit helping teenagers confront the young adult mental health crisis through peer-to-peer influence.
Prior to building philanthropy technology, he worked as a consultant to philanthropists, corporations, and private equity, most recently with Bain & Company.
He is a former US Army cavalry officer and holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management as well as bachelor’s degrees in economics and management from Georgia Tech.
He is married to Katie, and they have three young children. They call Columbus, GA home and enjoy being avid Atlanta Braves fans.
One of the leading voices in the fundraising community, Gary Pforzheimer is an expert in planned gift development and the administration, marketing and technology that drives successful planned giving. As President of Planned Giving, he draws on more than forty years of philanthropic experience to oversee the design of Foundation Source’s innovative planned giving solutions and software.
Mr. Pforzheimer joined Foundation Source through the acquisition of PG Calc, a company he founded in 1985 and led for more than 35 years as it became the leading provider of planned giving services and software.
He is active in many nonprofit organizations. He is the Board Chair for Breaktime, an organization founded to break the cycle of homelessness by equipping young adults with the job and financial security they need to establish housing security, and was the former President of Temple Israel, Boston, and served as the Chair of the National Association of Gift Planners (CGP).
Mr. Pforzheimer received the David Donaldson Distinguished Service award from the Planned Giving Group of New England (PGGNE) in 1995 and was inducted into the CGP Hall of Fame in 2020. Mr. Pforzheimer received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Harvard College in 1984 and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School in 1991.
He and his wife live in Belmont MA, close to the Planned Giving office in Harvard Square.
